Turn room sizes into whole boxes. Every flooring product page has a calculator that does the same maths. This page is the plain walkthrough.
1. Measure length × width
For each room, measure length and width in metres. Multiply for that room’s m². Irregular rooms: split into rectangles, measure each, then add.
2. Add rooms for total m²
Add every room (and hallway or wet area you are covering) into one total floor area in m².
3. Add waste (~7-10%)
Cuts, walls that are not square, and pattern matching all eat boards. A practical waste guide is about 7-10% (not a guarantee; your layout may need more). Complex layouts or diagonal lays sit toward the high end. Multiply total m² by 1.07 to 1.10.
4. Divide by m² per box
Each product lists how many m² one box covers. Divide your waste-adjusted m² by that coverage.
5. Always round up
You buy whole boxes only. If the maths says 11.2 boxes, order 12. Cart quantity = cartons.
Use the product-page calculator
On any flooring product page, enter your m². The calculator applies the same round-up logic and sets box quantity for you. Published $/m² helps you compare; $/box is what you pay.
Do not under-order
Running short mid-job is worse than one spare box. Later production batches can differ in colour or finish. Order enough in one go so boards match.
